First and most importantly, please use properly licensed and insured contractors whenever you need help with your property’s gas lines or fixtures. Gas fixtures may produce carbon monoxide which can cause serious health issues and even death. Gas is combustible and may explode if your supply lines and fixtures are not properly installed. At Hanahan Plumbing Co. we are licensed and insured for gas work and we take your health and safety seriously.

We get a lot of calls regarding gas work that a homeowner or someone else has done. But they need a permit to get the gas meter turned on. Or even worse the City has caught them doing gas work illegally and now they need a permit for the City to release the meter. They generally ask us to pull a gas safety permit so the City will inspect the work.
Please note and understand that Hanahan Plumbing Co will not pull a gas permit of any kind for work done by others. We will only pull a gas permit for work we have physically performed and materials that we have supplied.
A gas safety permit is designed to keep you safe. If we find that a homeowner or someone else has attempted to repair a problem or add a gas line, we will not obtain a gas safety permit. We will give you a price to do the repair with the proper permits included.
Please protect yourself by verifying your plumber, electrician, gas contractor or HVAC technician is licensed by visiting the SCLLR website and conducting a license search. It’s also smart to ask for your contractor’s insurance certificate.
